When Visiting A Vancouver Record Store, Elton John Asked For Tech N9ne Records.

Gotta love when someone breaks a stereotype. If I asked you what artist Elton John would want to listen to, would Tech N9ne be in your top 500 answers? Probably not. Me either.
CBC News interviewed the Vancouver store manager, Lindsay Tomchyshen, and she said, "I came in from the back and there was Elton John standing there with his two bodyguards, digging through records."
She went on to say that Elton John asked the owner of the shop if they had any Tech N9ne records.
Guys, I know Elton John is not an ordinary person, but lest we forget he's a 69 year old English white guy, not necessarily the demographic Tech N9ne is trying to reach. Pretty awesome that his music has transcended across generations.
I'm just trying to picture my Grandpa walking into a record store and asking for anything that isn't Frank Sinatra or Elvis Presley. Just can't see it happening.
Unfortunately for Elton John the record store was out of Tech N9ne, so he bought a few Scritti Politti, an 80s British Pop band, albums instead.
I'm not sure how you go from Tech N9ne to Scritti Politti. That's like a restaurant saying they are all out of cheeseburgers so you order a salad instead.
Either way, it's cool to see that the boy Sir Elton John appreciates a wide range of music. Maybe we'll even get a Tech N9ne and Elton John collaboration out of this. One can only hope.
