Canadian Town Has Pink Tap Water

The Town of Onoway in Alberta Has PINK Water Coming From The Faucet.

There sure has been a lot of pink news recently.  First Oreo releases Peep flavored Oreos, then Starburst announces all pink Starburst packs, and now this.

Only this is slightly less cool.  IT'S ACTUALLY TERRIFYING.

                                     IT'S NEON PINK

                                     IT'S NEON PINK

This town has legitimately pink water. Not, "hey does this look a little pink to you," kind of water, but "this looks like it could be Bozo the Clown's piss" kind of water.

Mayor of the town, Dale Krasnow, said in a statement that the town, "could have done a better job communicating what was going on," and that there was also no public health risk.

UHHH YOU FUCKIN' THINK DALE? A little heads up would be appreciated.  If you know that your towns water is going to be pink for a short time you need to get the word out ASAP.  People need to plan their whole day around that!  Could you imagine taking a shower, then half way through you start getting sprayed with mystery pink sunshine water?  It'd be quite jarring.

Krasnow went on to explain that the water was pink because of a chemical called potassium permanganate, that is commonly used for water treatment.

He said, "The reservoir was drained, however some of the chemical still made it into the distribution system. While it is alarming to see pink water coming from your taps, potassium permanganate is used in normal treatment processes to help remove iron and manganese and residents were never at risk."

Apparently there was no reports of this water hurting anyone, but you wouldn't catch me dead drinking that water, and this is coming from someone who drank New Brunswick tap water regularly.  Get your shit together Canada.
