The 5 Best Things About Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2

BEWARE, SPOILERS AHEAD!

So last night I saw Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, and boy oh boy did I enjoy it.  Was there action? Yup. Was it silly? Yup. Did it have a great soundtrack? Uhhhhh YUP.  Pretty much exactly what you'd picture a Guardians sequel to be.  These are some of the best elements and moments in the movie:

1.) Drax Is Hilarious

Who knew Dave Bautista was so funny?  Drax had a couple of funny moments in the first movie, but in Vol 2. he's HILARIOUS.  Seriously, just about every line out of his mouth is a zinger.  Even when he bears down and gets serious, it is only for a moment. Example, when the Guardians are making a plan to save Star-Lord, and Drax gives a heartfelt speech and says, "We leave no man behind," then while looking at Nebula finishes with, "...well except maybe you."

2.) Yondu Steals The Show

The sub-plot of Rocket, Yondu, and Groot escaping Yondu's ship outshone the main plot of Peter meeting his father.  Yondu became a much more interesting character in Vol. 2 than in Vol. 1 and went from being an anti-hero to being a full hero.  Yondu getting a proper Ravager funeral at the end really hit you right in the feels.

3.) Star-Lord Shooting His Father

Loved this scene. After Ego admits to Peter that he killed his mother on purpose, Peter doesn't hesitate at all, he just whips out both pistols and UNLOADS on Ego.  No hesitation, no "hey maybe there's an explanation," just BANG BANG BANG BANG.  It's clear throughout both movies that Peter's mom meant more to him than anything, but seeing him unload a clip into his father, who he's being searching forever for, really sealed the deal.

It looked something like this.

It looked something like this.

4.) Groot's Scavenger Hunt

Another favorite of mine, and of people in the theatre, was Baby Groot's search for Yondu's prototype fin.  It seemed like a scene to make some of the younger fans happy, but what can I say, I'm a sucker for silly slapstick. It also showcased Baby Groot's inability to follow directions, which led to more suspense in the final bomb scene. Side note, I just couldn't stop thinking about how much money Marvel is going to make on Baby Groot stuffed animals this year.

5.) David Hasselhoff Cameo

I mean come on, David Hasselhoff in ANYTHING instantly makes it a thousand times better.  I call it, "The Hasselhoff" buff.  When Peter reveals the photo of Hasselhoff in his wallet I was wondering if there would be a cameo, and I was not disappointed.  The best part was that they didn't overdo it.  Although Hasselhoff makes every movie better, he's like snake venom, all you need is a drop to do the job.
